Le nom 'MELISSA' écrit en lettres capitales noires sur un fond blanc.
Le nom de famille de la photographe Mélissa Pottier, 'POTTIER' écrit en gros caractères noirs.

Born in 1993, she grew up in the last years before everything became a screen, outside more than inside, looking at what surrounded her before looking was replaced by scrolling. That kind of attention doesn't disappear. It just finds a form.

She came to photography through cinema, camera operator first, learning how light falls before learning to use it. Something of that stayed: a habit of looking at what's already there rather than building what isn't.

Her images carry it. Softness, stillness, color used deliberately, trained in graphic design, she thinks in palettes as much as in light, drawn to temperature, to reference, to the way a single hue can shift everything around it.

She directs moments that look effortless, images that feel less like pictures than like recognition.

She shoots on film and digital, based between Paris and Barcelona.
She is also co-director of Club 35, a Parisian analog photography lab.
